ATSDR classifies the Dauphin Disposal site as a no apparent public health hazard. This classification is based on the fact that the site was cleaned up to the satisfaction of the state and is considered to be a "no further action" site. In addition, the residences near the site were bought out by the company and the private wells were grouted. BIW donated the residencial properties to the Bath Housing Authority. The residences were renovated and sold and are currently occupied and supplied by municipal water.
Because the site was remediated, there are no other health concerns to address for this site, and there is no possibility of human contact that would result in adverse health effects. ATSDR makes no further recommendations for this site.
