CONCLUSIONS

ATSDR finds that there are insufficient environmental data on air emissions from the Austral Products facility to fully evaluate two health concerns expressed by the petition letter -- migraine headaches and a stroke experienced at an early age. ATSDR finds that other concerns expressed in the letter appear to have occurred in timeframes which indicate they are likely not related to the Austral Products site.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Based on the information above, ATSDR recommends the following.
1. Evaluate health concerns when additional environmental data are available to review. ATSDR will provide a copy of this report to the Georgia EPD as a basis for more detailed delineation of specific VOC emissions from the facility (both fugitive and stack emissions).

2. Consider additional environmental data and revise this health consultation as appropriate, if additional information becomes available.
