ATSDR's Substance-Specific Priority Data Needs

Historical Document

The documents provided on this page are for historical purposes only. This webpage is no longer being maintained or updated.

The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry’s (ATSDR) Substance-Specific Applied Research Program (SSARP) consisted of a research agenda for priority hazardous substances. In establishing the SSARP, ATSDR first identified data needs in its Toxicological Profiles for these substances. The data needs were then subjected to further evaluation and prioritized. The priority data needs represented essential information to improve the database for conducting public health assessments. The identified priority data needs reflected the opinion of ATSDR, in consultation with other federal programs.
