Brownfields Program Initiatives for Tribes
Staff from the EPA Region 6 Brownfields Program invited ATSDR/DRO Region 6 staff to participate in a joint project between regions on land reuse activities. ATSDR Region 6 proposed creating a video highlighting multiple successful tribal redevelopment events that included both environmental cleanup and benefits to public health and to create a video and showcase at selected museums for public education. Collaboration included Regions 4, 5, and 6 for the creation of a story board concept. Two tribes were selected to participate in the video development including the Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe (WA) and the Cherokee Tribe (OK). Filming support will be conducted by the ATSDR Senior Representative in Region 4.
