Federal agency seeks comments from the public on new health report in Farmington, Strafford County, NH

The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) released a new report for public comment for the Former Collins & Aikman Plant (C&A) site. ATSDR will accept comments from the public until August 5, 2016.

The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) Environmental Health Program, through ATSDR’s Cooperative Agreement Program, evaluated past, current, and potential future exposure to volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in air, water, and soil originating from the C&A site. NHDES also reviewed sampling data and past environmental investigation reports.

Copies of the report can be reviewed during regular hours of operation at the Goodwin Library, 422 Main St, Farmington, NH 03835.

ATSDR will accept comments through August 5, 2016. The public comment process gives residents the opportunity to review reports, ask questions, and provide their input. ATSDR’s responses to those comments will be included in the appendices of the final report.
