Exposure Pathway

An exposure pathway describes how people in a community might come into contact with a site-related chemical. When we evaluate an exposure pathway, we look at whether people could have come in contact with site contaminants in the past, if they are coming in contact with them now, or if they could come in contact with them in the future. An exposure pathway analysis answers the question, “Could people be exposed to site-related contaminants?”.
