Public Health Assessment Training (PHAT)

PHAT is designed to increase knowledge and competency of environmental health practices in the evaluation of exposure to hazardous substances. It consists of eight modules based on a realistic environmental health case study, problem-solving exercises, and comprehensive resources and references to conduct health assessments.

Visit the Public Health Assessment Training (PHAT) to complete the PHAT Modules and obtain continuing education credentials.

To register for PHAT Modules:

Access each PHAT module here and register in CDCTRAIN to complete its content.

To obtain continuing education (CE):

Once you have finished the module in CDCTRAIN, click on “GET CE”. This will take you to TCEO where you can follow these 9 Simple Steps to obtain CEs for completing each module by its deadline.

Environmental Health and Land Reuse (EHLR)

The EHLR Certificate Program is a holistic training course consisting of six modules with information; procedures; and resources needed to identify, cleanup, and redevelop land reuse sites.

Visit the Environmental Health and Land Reuse (EHLR) Online Certificate  to obtain

  • A “Community Engagement and Risk Communication Certificate” upon completion of the prerequisite and modules 1 and 3, or
  • An “Environmental Health and Land Reuse Certificate” upon completion of the prerequisite and all five modules.
