National Conversation on Public Health and Chemical Exposures

Let's Talk

Let's Talk

The United States has a complex system for protecting the public from exposure to harmful chemicals. This system is built on environmental laws and the work of many government, industry, research, and non-profit groups. Although our nation’s system has had some major successes, the time has come for us to look at it again.

We want to continue making progress in the way we address exposures and the way they affect people’s health. For decades, we have dealt with waste sites and clean air and water issues; however, recent research now suggests that issues such as chemical exposures from food and consumer products deserve more attention.

Many people across the nation understand the value and timeliness of revisiting these efforts. We invite those who are interested to share their thoughts to help us chart a path forward.
