ATSDR Extends Public Comment Period For Homestake Mining Company Mill Site, Milan, New Mexico Thru July 3, 2008

For Immediate Release: May 29, 2008

ATLANTA—The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) released a Public Health Consultation that concluded the Homestake Mining Company Mill Site in Milan (Cibola County), New Mexico is a public health hazard. The report is now available for public review for 45 days (May 19 – July 3, 2008) with copies available at the University of New Mexico Grants Campus Library, 1500 3rd Street, Grants, NM 87020, or from ATSDR. The public comment period was extended through July 3, 2008 after a delay in the report’s delivery.

Additionally, a May 15, 2008 release provided a web link to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, to review the report online. This link has been changed to:
