soilSHOPs and You

Soil Screening, Health, Outreach, and Partnership (soilSHOP) is a part of ATSDR’s efforts to reduce people’s exposures to lead. soilSHOPs are free community events that are meant to help people learn if their soil has lead and how to reduce exposures to lead in soil.

At soilSHOP events you can receive

• free soil screening for lead,
• information on safe gardening practices,
• ways to protect children from lead exposure, and
• one-on-one health education to discuss your soil sample results and steps to prevent exposures.
